Upper Campaspe River existing conditions land mapping

That part of the Ashbourne Landcare (ALG) area in the catchment of the Campaspe River above the Campaspe Reservoir significantly impacts on the quality of the water that is captured in the Reservoir and subsequently distributed to households in Woodend.

With this in mind the ALG has agreed, with representatives of the Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Coliban Water and Greater Western Water, that our organizations should collaborate in providing landholders with assistance and advice in sustainable, best practice land management.

The first step is, of course, to record and map the existing conditions of the area.

Recently some exceptional work in this field has been done on the Deep Creek Project east of Newham, through a collaboration between the Biolinks Alliance, the Upper Deep Creek Network Group, Melbourne Water and Macedon Ranges Shire Council. We are fortunate that Karl Kny,…
